Brennan O’Dowd

Brennan’s 22-year career in freight began in AP/AR—work that quickly clarified where his interests did and did not lie. A move into operations at Elite Logistics’ Portland terminal revealed a lasting fascination with routing freight and the logic behind a well-run operation.

He went on to lead Elite’s San Francisco facility with a mandate to run it like his own business. Its success led to opening and managing the Los Angeles operation as well. When the next step did not materialize, Brennan took the leap into building his own freight technology company.

He founded 7LFreight in 2006. Under Brennan’s leadership and since its founding, the platform has produced more than one billion freight quotes; it joined Freightos in 2022.

At a strategic crossroads in 2011, Brennan and his co-founder chose to keep 7LFreight focused on rate management rather than force booking execution into the wrong product. They formed Primus, a neutral TMS for 3PLs and 4PLs with deep LTL carrier connectivity. Brennan remains an owner and advisor.

That experience—operator, buyer, builder, vendor, and executive—shapes Morel’s independent and practical approach.
